Human Rights Defenders in the State of Guerrero: cases of resistance and initiatives from civil society regarding the defense and promotion of fundamental rights in Guerrero
This publication is based on PBI Mexico´s 8 years of experience working in Guerrero.
The first part of this text presents initiatives from social and human rights organizations in the state.
The second section outlines visions and proposals of Mexican authorities and international human rights organizations.
In conclusion, the text discusses the risks faced by human rights defenders in Guerrero and PBI´s accompaniment activities in the state.

Carta de Tlachinollan sobre la Impunidad en Guerrero
En el estado de Guerrero, 107 defensores y defensoras de derechos humanos cuentan desde abril del 2009, con medidas provisionales emitidas por la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, a partir de que dicho organismo internacional consideró que existen condiciones de vulnerabilidad y un riesgo real e inminente a causa de su trabajo. Asimismo, en el estado se han registrado diversos casos que ejemplifican la situación señalada por la Oficina del Alto Comisionado cuyos lamentables aniversarios se conmemorarán en las próximas semanas y que en común cuentan con el factor de la impunidad.
