Mexico Volunteers

PBI in Mexico

The Mexico Project field team is made up of volunteers from many countries who accompany people or organizations under threat, make regular visits to conflict zones, distribute information about the evolution of the conflict, work with civil and military authorities and carry out public relations and lobbying work to generate international support.

This international support is made up of a wide range of institutions, members of parliaments, NGOs, church organizations, civil servants and members of the diplomatic community, who have expressed their support for the work of PBI Mexico.

The Project works according to the philosophy of nonviolence, within the framework of international norms of human rights, under a strict respect for local laws and is independent of political and religious agendas. The Mexico Project receives funds from many public and private institutions of different countries, which allows it clear financial independence from any organization.

Human Rights Defenders in the State of Guerrero

PBI Mexico recently published Human Rights Defenders in the State of Guerrero: cases of resistence and iniciatives from Mexican civil society regarding the promotion and defense of fundamental rights in Mexico. This publication was presented in the Club de Periodistas in Mexico City on May 29, 2008
