Since 1993, the North America Project has responded to a number of different situations involving First Nations struggles for justice in both Canada and the United States.

This map shows the geographic boundaries of the different First Nations in North America before the advent of European colonization. Today's political borders of Canada and the US ignore these boundaries, which causes most of the difficulties First Nations face in trying to maintain their own political and cultural identities.
